Gingerbread Ice Cream
In my opinion, it is never too late in the year for ice cream!!! This gluten-free gingerbread ice cream is the perfect ice cream to give you that warm fuzzy feeling of Christmas. The mouthwatering bold spices of gingerbread come together to make this perfect holiday treat that is just a little out of the ordinary and easier to make than gingerbread itself!
Ingredients
- heavy cream - 1 3/4 c.
- whole milk - 1 1/4 c.
- brown sugar - 3/4 c.
- salt - 1/8 tsp.
- vanilla extract - 1 tbs.
- cinnamon (ground) - 1 1/2 tsp.
- ginger (ground) - 1 1/2 tsp.
- cloves - 1/4 + 1/8 tsp
- molasses - 3 tbs.
Instructions
- Pour 1 cup of heavy cream into a saucepan along with sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, molasses and vanilla extract and warm until the sugar is dissolved. If you want a little less bold taste, just use 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1 tsp. ginger, and 1/4 tsp. of cloves instead of the measurements above.
- Add remaining cream and milk and put directly into your ice cream maker. I have a Cuisinart ice cream maker and it takes about 20-30 minutes to get a soft serve ice cream. When it reaches the soft serve stage, remove from machine and put directly into the freezer for a firmer ice cream.
